An easy and highly motivating Positive-Leadership method
It is often the small positive things that brighten up everyday working life. At the end of the year, however, one usually only remembers the larger milestones. This is why I would like to give you a suggestion for a positive review of the year, which reminds you of the big AND small, more beautiful moments of the year.
Organize a small PERMA box for your team, a kind of treasure chest for positive things that happened this week. On the basis of the following guiding questions, which are based on the PERMA model, every Friday another team member writes a note which he/she then places into the PERMA box:
Positive Emotions: What have I (or we) laughed about this week, or what have I (we) been particularly happy about this week?
or
Engagement: What particular strengths and skills have I (we) been able to use this week?
or
Relationships: What has strengthened our team spirit this week?
or
Meaning: Where do I (we) feel that I (we) have contributed something valuable this week?
or
Accomplishment: Where have I (we) achieved a goal or a partial goal this week?
Over the course of the year, various positive events of the team are collected. At the end of year Christmas party this "PERMA treasure chest" is opened and the notes are read aloud.
This is a very simple, yet at the same time wonderful, method to experience a positive conclusion to the year, to value both the smaller and larger things, while remembering them together.
Of course this method can also be used for oneself, with one's children, or with one's partner, or with...
Perhaps you'd like to start next week?
